And finally, the JUDO4ID Training of Trainers programme came to its end, with The „Spread the Word” Seminar, event hosted by Special Needs Judo Foundation and implemented also due to Svenska Judoförbundet vast expertise.

The Training of Trainers programme was a unique opportunity for both young and experienced judo coaches and PE teachers to access adapted judo resources to implement when working with Special Needs judoka, in order to empower them and raise their self-esteem by means of judo games, adapted judo techniques and community events. The participants succeded in overcoming their limits, their fears, in developing their patience, self-confidence and adaptation skills, as well as their technicall skills and imagination.
Tips&tricks for adapted judo coaches:
🪄practice adapted judo skills by organizing more individual teaching sessions;
🪄measure the progress in techniques;
🪄take time to explain judoka what they have to do and show them, by getting involved in the training session;
🪄take care at the forbidden techniques, as SAFETY stays FIRST;
🪄LESS IS MORE, so do not overcomplicate the trainings;
🪄lift the boundaries during the exercises depending on the athlete’s capacities;
🪄do not be afraid to make mistakes, learn from them and use your imagination to create other ways to reach your goal;
🪄start creating a big toolbox for your training;
🪄play.
